Elizondo/AATIP: official role denial vs. internal records; destroyed emails (2017–2020)

Documented · said Handling What these labels mean →

After Elizondo went public (2017), the Pentagon said he 'had no assigned responsibilities for AATIP' and that AATIP 'was never an official, recognized DoD program.' FOIA'd 2019 emails show his supervisor discussing AATIP with him and a memo on his AATIP duties. The DoD reported that his emails had been destroyed.
