BAASS's 2010 self-assessment excerpts a report by 'personnel assigned to DIA' on the 2004 Nimitz encounter

Documented What these labels mean →

D175 pp26-32 reproduces a summary 'excerpted from the report of an investigation conducted by personnel assigned to DIA' of the November 2004 Nimitz Carrier Strike Group UAP observations, using the term Anomalous Aerial Vehicle (AAV). It records that the USS Louisville had 'no unidentified sonar contacts' in the area, that a pilot refused CVIC's attempt to collect his tapes, and that a set of tapes was 'turned into the intelligence section'. That places the Nimitz case inside the DIA contract's deliverables by November 2010, seven years before the December 2017 NYT story.

Comparison

Against the undated 13-page "Executive Summary" KLAS published 2018-05-18 (Commons copy of the KLAS PDF, sha256 6ec297e3…fd94, OCR'd locally): - Where D175 keeps text, it matches KLAS word for word: Executive Summary, Key Assessments (D175 heads them "Key Assessments According to DIA Report"), the F/A-18 debriefs, the tapes, the USS Louisville sonar line. - D175 leaves out KLAS pp2-5: the platform background (Princeton/SPY-1, E-2C/APS-145, with Wikipedia and GlobalSecurity footnotes) and the E-2C crew debriefs. - D175 leaves out the KLAS p9 line that CVIC sailors "had donned tin-foil caps". - D175 leaves out KLAS pp12-13 "Leadership and Reporting": CVIC's handling, the air wing intelligence officer ("didn't take it seriously"), the 3rd Fleet N2, RADM Curtis, and the CSG-11 N3's statement that the MISREP was the only official reporting.
