Company verified UFO links unproven
A real post-war trading company run by the people who had just run Allied intelligence. What follows separates what the record shows from what Jason Samosa and others build on top of it. Research started 2026-09-26; claims are worked through one at a time below.
Short version. The company existed, was covered by Time in 1947, and its backers were a roll call of OSS, British Security Coordination and Wall Street / City of London money. That part is solid. The links to Nazi assets, Allen Dulles, Otto Skorzeny, UFO technology and a controlling secret society have no documents behind them in anything found so far.
Origin
- May 1945: Sir William Stephenson ("Intrepid", head of British Security Coordination in New York) forms the British American Canadian Corporation with William "Wild Bill" Donovan, head of the OSS.
- 2 April 1947: it is re-registered in Panama as World Commerce Corporation.
- 6 October 1947: Time profiles it ("Foreign Trade: Idealism, Inc."): $1,000,000 paid-in capital, "unlimited capital resources among its potent U.S., British and Canadian backers", representatives in 47 countries, part-owned subsidiaries in Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Egypt, Panama and the Philippines.
What it did
Barter trade. Post-war countries had no dollars, so WCC arranged goods-for-goods and currency swaps (Time's example: Swedish raw materials for British manufacturers). Its best-known project was a $3M cement plant in Jamaica; Stephenson became chairman of Caribbean Cement Co. WCC employee Tom Hill later said the idea was to use the organisation and contacts built during the war to set up companies, mostly in Central and South America.
Who was behind it
| Person / firm | Intelligence or power background | Source strength |
|---|---|---|
| William Stephenson | Head of British Security Coordination (MI6 in the Americas) | Strong (Time 1947) |
| William J. Donovan | Founder and head of the OSS, CIA's predecessor | Strong (Time 1947) |
| Hambros Bank / Sir Charles Hambro | Hambro ran Britain's SOE (sabotage service) 1942–43 | Strong (Time lists Hambros) |
| Edward Stettinius Jr. | US Secretary of State 1944–45 | Strong (Time) |
| Joseph C. Grew | Under Secretary of State, ex-ambassador to Japan | Strong (Time) |
| Glore, Forgan & Co. (Russell Forgan) | Forgan ran OSS in Europe late in the war | Strong (Time lists the firm) |
| Frank T. Ryan (Bache & Co.) | OSS; later WCC president | Strong (Time) |
| Mellon interests; Transamerica / Bank of America; Robert Benson & Co.; James D. Mooney; L. Boyd Hatch | Major US/UK capital | Strong (Time) |
| Nelson Rockefeller, Sidney Weinberg | Rockefeller ran US intelligence/propaganda for Latin America in WWII | Medium: secondary sources, not in Time |
| Ian Fleming, Ivar Bryce, Lord Beaverbrook, Henry Luce, John McCloy, Victor Sassoon, Alexander Korda, others | Fleming: naval intelligence; Bryce: BSC | Weak: long lists on Spartacus Educational mix directors, investors and friends |
2. The Bahamas and the Caribbean: what is documented
The Caribbean was a hub for intelligence veterans after the war. These points are on record:
- Stephenson's own base was Jamaica then Bermuda, not the Bahamas. He bought Hillowton above Montego Bay after the war and is buried in Bermuda (d. 1989). Fleming's Goldeneye was also in Jamaica.
- Duke of Windsor, Governor of the Bahamas 1940–45. Parked there partly over concern about his German sympathies. His friend Axel Wenner-Gren, a Swedish industrialist living on Hog Island (now Paradise Island), was blacklisted by the US and Britain during the war.
- Castle Bank & Trust, Nassau (1962). Founded by Paul Helliwell, ex-OSS and CIA, with tax lawyer Burton Kanter. It moved CIA money for anti-Castro operations and also served celebrities and organised crime. It was exposed by the IRS's Operation Tradewinds investigation, begun in 1965. This is the best-documented intelligence-to-Bahamas link.
- Mary Carter Paint → Resorts International (Paradise Island casino, 1960s). Widely alleged to have been a CIA front for paying Cuban exiles. The front claim is an allegation, not proven.
- Intertel (1970). A private intelligence firm founded by ex-Justice Department lawyers Robert Peloquin and William Hundley after Resorts International hired them to keep the mob out of its Bahamas casino. Staffed heavily with former FBI and intelligence people. Documented.
- Thomas Townsend Brown in Nassau (~1965). The antigravity researcher worked with a Nassau group, per his biographers and family. This is where UFO research meets the Bahamas. How it connects to WCC or Resorts International is not documented.
3. Jason Samosa's claims: worksheet
From his appearances ("UFOs, The Collins Elite, & The World Commerce Corporation" on YouTube; American Alchemy, 2h31m). As one reviewer put it, he "provides no document that establishes a chain" from these companies or people to recovered technology or a UAP programme. Status below is ours; update as we go.
| # | Claim | Status | What we have so far |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | WCC formed right after WWII by intelligence officials, financiers and industrialists | Verified | Time, 6 Oct 1947; formed May 1945 as BACC. |
| 2 | Board included Donovan, Stephenson and Hambros | Verified | All three named in Time 1947. |
| 3 | Allen Dulles was on the board or involved | Unproven | Not in Time's list, and no primary source found. Dulles was OSS Bern, so the network overlaps, but board membership is unconfirmed. |
| 4 | Rockefeller establishment involved | Unproven | Nelson Rockefeller appears in secondary lists only. Check biographies and Rockefeller Archive Center records. |
| 5 | WCC was a web of shell companies laundering billions, fusing mob, elite and intelligence | Unproven | Subsidiaries in 6 countries are documented. "Billions" and mob fusion have no source found. Mob plus intelligence plus money is documented later at Castle Bank (1962), but that's a different entity. |
| 6 | WCC filled the void left by the broken-up German cartels / handled Nazi assets moved out of Europe | Unproven | Traces to the "Torbitt Document" (1970, pseudonymous, low reliability). No asset trail found. |
| 7 | Otto Skorzeny connected to WCC | Unproven (upgraded 2026-09-26) | Skorzeny was in Madrid after the war. Ralph Ganis (The Skorzeny Papers, 2018) says WCC president Frank Ryan and VP Ricardo Sicre appear heavily in Skorzeny's papers, and Sicre lived in his building. Aline Griffith (WCC, Madrid) reportedly said 'Otto came in as leader.' Single sources; no primary document seen. |
| 8 | WCC or its successors gained control of advanced aerospace / UFO technology | Smoke, no fire | No document at all. Leans on the alleged 1933 Magenta (Italy) crash, which is itself unverified. |
| 9 | "Collins Elite": an intelligence group studying UFOs as demonic/occult | Unproven | Origin is Nick Redfern's Final Events (2010), based on anonymous informants. No documents. |
| 10 | T. Townsend Brown's Bahamas work ties into this network (Resorts International, private intelligence) | Unproven | Brown in Nassau ~1965 and Resorts International/Intertel are each documented. A link between them isn't. |
| 11 | Prescott Bush, Robert Maxwell, Epstein, the royal family: a continuous thread | Unproven | Each needs its own check. Being in the same place doesn't show a chain. |
3b. The Knights of Malta thread
Added 2026-09-26. This comes up in Samosa's material as a line from the Templars to modern intelligence networks.
| Claim | Status | What the record shows |
|---|---|---|
| The Order of Malta is a real sovereign entity | Verified | About 13,500 members. UN General Assembly observer since 1994. Diplomatic relations with 114 states. |
| It inherited the Templars' assets | Verified | The papal bull Ad providam (2 May 1312) gave former Templar lands to the Hospitallers, the Order's predecessor. Iberian kingdoms were excepted. |
| William Donovan (head of the OSS, WCC founder) was a Knight of Malta | Unproven, likely a mix-up | His documented papal honor is different: Pius XII gave him the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Sylvester in July 1944. Claims that he was a Knight of Malta trace to secondary and conspiracy sites. He did ally with Felix Morlion's Catholic intelligence service, Pro Deo, from 1941. |
| CIA directors Casey and McCone were members | Unproven | Widely reported as alleged (Mother Jones 1983, Foreign Policy 2011), but neither ever acknowledged membership. |
| The Order honored Hitler's spy chief, Reinhard Gehlen | Verified | He received the Grand Cross pro Merito Melitensi in 1948, while his Gehlen Organization ran under CIA control (1947–56) before becoming West Germany's BND. |
| The Order coordinates a hidden intelligence or UAP program | Smoke, no fire | No document shows coordination. Overlapping membership or honors isn't command structure. |
Takeaway: The solid thread runs through the Vatican and US intelligence in 1944–48: Donovan's papal knighthood, the Pro Deo alliance, and the Order's honor to Gehlen while the CIA ran his network. That's real, datable and FOIA-able. The Templar-to-CIA chain as a continuous secret line isn't supported.
3c. Gehlen FOIA files
Declassified under the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act (1998) and released through NARA's IWG, 2000–2007. The U.S. Army ran the Gehlen Organization from 1946; the CIA took it over in 1949 (cryptonym ZIPPER), and it became West Germany's BND in 1956.
| Document | What it shows |
|---|---|
| CIA, Forging an Intelligence Partnership: CIA and the Origins of the BND, 1945–49 (Ruffner, 2 vols) | The CIA's own internal history of taking over Gehlen |
| Cryptonym ZIPPER | CIA codename for the Gehlen operation |
| IWG release of CIA Name Files, Breitman analysis (PDF) | Former SS/Gestapo men in the Org (Augsburg, Harster, Kopkow); the Felfe Soviet-mole scandal |
| Ruffner, Eagle and Swastika (CIA History Staff draft, 2003) | CIA's internal account of Nazi war criminals it used; reading room copy |
| Letter to Mr. Dulles from R. Gehlen | Direct Gehlen–Dulles correspondence |
| "Gen. Gehlen's careful shift to the Allies" | How Gehlen surrendered his files to the U.S. in 1945 |
| NARA: FBI/CIA Gehlen release · RG 263 report | Finding aids for the released files |
| CIA name file: Gehlen, Reinhard (Vols 1–7) | Gehlen's personal CIA file, split into many scanned PDFs (example from Vol 3). This is where a Malta mention would be, if one exists. |
Where the Malta claim comes from: the 1948 award (Gran Croce al Merito con Placca) and the detail that Gehlen's brother was a secretary at the Order's Rome headquarters trace to Martin Lee's 1983 Mother Jones article "Their Will Be Done". That article is journalism; it does not cite a CIA document. A search of the reading room for "Gehlen" with "Malta", "Melitensi" or "Vatican" found no document connecting them. Status: the award is documented, and a CIA role in it is unproven. Next step: read the Gehlen name file volumes for 1948, or file a FOIA request for "Gehlen" with "Order of Malta".

Source: https://archive.org/details/The_World_Commerce_Corporation (3 docs) 1. FBI NY → Director, 20 Oct 1950 (file 100-84931), caption 'Intelligence Activities in the US / Internal Security'. A long-time, 'absolutely reliable' FBI informant says a WCC figure (name redacted) tried to recruit him to gather information for a party whose identity is also redacted. The key line: WCC "had been an outgrowth of the British and United States cooperation in General DONOVAN'S O.S.S., and further that the British factions of the O.S.S. had all shifted their efforts and interests to the World Commerce Corporation when General DONOVAN'S Office was dissolved." The informant offered to report on WCC from inside if hired. FBI tracked WCC as an intelligence matter (1950) 2. FBI Miami FD-302, Dec 1993: a 'World Commerce Corporation' import/export firm that ceased operations around 1985. Heavily redacted; probably a same-name company, not linked. 3. Maryland 2008 incorporation (internet marketing): an unrelated same-name company.
What it adds: the only government document found so far that frames WCC as a continuation of OSS/British intelligence after the OSS was dissolved (Sept 1945). That's the informant's belief, recorded by the FBI, not an FBI finding. It supports the 'intelligence front' reading of claims 1–2 in the worksheet. Nothing in it touches Nazi assets, Dulles or UFOs.
