MITRE Corporation
Nonprofit that runs six federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs). Spun out of MIT Lincoln Lab in 1958 for the SAGE air-defense system. Its National Security Engineering Center (NSEC) serves the DoD and intelligence community. About 99% federally funded. Target of Rep.
